Luca is enrolled at The University of British Columbia in the Natural Resources Conservation program where he also works as a research assistant in forest ecology.
His life changed when he spent a summer working alongside the community of El Astillero in Southwestern Nicaragua. Struck by the happiness of the local community, despite their difficult circumstances, he was inspired to show his gratitude by working to improve the lives of the local people through a series of community and conservation programs. This work resulted in Luca, and fellow Youth Advisory Board member, Sol Rodriguez, founding Casa Congo.
Casa Congo focuses on building ecosystems that provide solutions that make communities more resilient in today’s environmental uncertainty.
