Lucy Odiwa

Lucy Achieng Odiwa is an adolescent sexual and reproductive health rights advocate, global menstrual hygiene management activist, development and community health practitioner, clinical health executive and Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of WomenChoice Industries. Ms. Odiwa has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Public Administration and holds a diploma in Clinical Medicine. She has over 10 years of experience in social and community development in Tanzania as she has worked as Clinical Officer at the Teule District Hospital, Program Manager for Service Health and Developemnt for People Living Positively with HIV/AIDS, Local NGO and Project Officer for the African Peace Ambassadors, and Coordinator for Muheza District Community Health Fund. She has been at the forefront of advocacy, championing menstrual hygiene management policy and inclusive budgeting in the local government. Ms. Odiwa has also been empowering socially disadvantaged women on menstrual hygiene management business and financial management models across Tanzania, where they have become menstrual hygiene management reusable care product vendors and sales agents. She is an outstanding leader and a vocal advocate for women and human rights.
