Francesca is a second year student at the University of British Columbia studying Conservation of Natural Resources in the Faculty of Forestry. As an avid skier, surfer, and climber, she sees British Columbia as the perfect place to live and study.
For her high school senior project, Francesca created a prototype Rockflower surfboard and plans to work with socially conscious companies to develop a line of boards that are designed “for” and “about” girls and women, raising money and awareness for the five keys of Rockflower. Francesca is currently spending the summer living in Nicaragua working with one of Rockflower's partners - Casa Congo - helping to teach surf lessons, English classes, create women’s empowerment and leadership programs, as well as doing conservation field work in the local protected area of Astillero.
