Rockflower Launches Fundraiser to Promote Young Women Financial Independence in Kenya - The Cherehani Project

Today, Rockflower launched a fundraiser to promote financial independence for young women in Kenya. The goal of this fundraiser is to provide funding for 40 sewing machines and technical training of young women in Kenya to facilitate them launching a career in tailoring. A sewing machine costs $100 and the training materials approximately $25. 

Rockflower and CSP Complete Maternal Health Pilot Project

During the winter of 2015, Rockflower funded a 6 month pilot project to provide a temporary maternal health center in the hilly, remote villages surrounding Muzzafarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan.

The center provided local women access to maternal health care - many for the first time. The project was launched and managed by Rockflower partner - Community Services Program - Pakistan

Rockflower Partners with Wino Village in Tanzania

Rockflower is pleased to announce a new partnership with Wino Village, Tanzania. Estimates indicate that about 70% of the population get access to water services at a distance of at least one kilometer away. This is especially challenging given that the location of the village is in a high escarpment surrounded by mountains.

A Celebration of the “Currency of Mind”on International Women’s Day 2016

In recognizing all of the incredible women (and men) who work tirelessly every day on the issue of gender parity, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on a phrase that I heard in meditation almost three years ago - “Currency of Mind”. I practice meditation to become clearer in every decision in life, but particularly with regard to Rockflower. At the time I was unsure exactly what this meant, but had a feeling that it was to encourage me to go deeper into the research and development of crafting what we hoped would be a fund of collective action and implementation.
