Improve Standard of Living for Homeless Sudanese Women

Location: Juba, South Sudan

Project Aim

The aim of this project is to empower and support the economic status of 20 homeless South Sudanese widows and girls by providing each of them cash seed money of US$200 to allow them to start small-scale income-generating businesses, such as setting up restaurants or vendor stands selling vegetables, tea, charcoal, and/or grain flour. The Sudanese widows assisted by this project have lost their husbands in war or due to illnesses, such as HIV and AIDS. This will help them to start earning an income and improve their housing conditions with their savings to pay land title deeds, land surveys for permanent ownership, pay school tuition fees for their children, and/or healthcare.
